The Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL) has issued an apology following an incident at Kotoka International Airport (KIA) on Monday, April 7, 2025, which left a number of passengers temporarily stranded.

The disruption occurred at Terminal 2 when the main arrival gate failed to open, preventing disembarking passengers from Passion Air flight 143—which had arrived from Kumasi at 7:56 a.m.—from accessing the arrivals hall.

In a public statement, GACL expressed deep regret over the inconvenience caused and stated that an internal investigation is already underway to determine the cause of the malfunction.

The company also assured travelers that disciplinary action will be taken where necessary and reaffirmed its commitment to delivering safe, reliable, and efficient services across all its airport facilities.
