The Public Utilities Regulatory Commission (PURC) has levied fines against former members of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) board, who served during the period between January 1 and March 18, 2024. The fines amount to a total of five million, eight hundred and sixty-eight thousand Ghana cedis (GH₵5,868,000.00). This punitive measure was imposed due to the violation of Regulation 39 of L.I. 2413, which mandates the provision of prior notification to consumers regarding any scheduled power interruptions.
