Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has secured the first spot on the ballot for the upcoming 2024 presidential elections. The National Democratic Congress (NDC) will appear in the eighth position, following Friday’s balloting at the Electoral Commission’s (EC) headquarters.

The Great Consolidated Popular Party (GCPP) claimed the second spot, while the Ghana National Party (GNP) will occupy the third position. The Ghana Union Movement (GUM) took the fourth slot, with the Liberal Party of Ghana securing the fifth position.

The National Democratic Party (NDP) was assigned the sixth spot, and the Convention People’s Party (CPP) will appear seventh on the ballot. The All People’s Congress (APC) claimed the ninth position, just after the NDC’s John Dramani Mahama in eighth place.

Among the independent candidates, Alan Kyerematen will be listed 13th, Nana Kwame Bediako is 12th, Kofi Koranteng is 10th, and George Twum Barimah is 11th.

The balloting process, which concluded on September 20, was marked by some disputes among party representatives but ultimately proceeded smoothly after an hour of deliberations. This followed the EC’s earlier announcement of the officially approved candidates for the 2024 elections.
