Herbert Krapa is appointed Energy Minister by Akufo-Addo

President Nana Akufo-Addo has officially appointed Herbert Krapa as the new Minister for Energy, effective Tuesday, November 19, 2024. The announcement was made through a statement from the Director of Communications at the Presidency, Eugene Arhin.

In the statement, President Akufo-Addo expressed confidence in Mr. Krapa’s ability to excel in his new role, ensuring the continued growth and transformation of the nation’s energy sector.

Before this appointment, Mr. Krapa served as the Minister of State at the Ministry of Energy, a position he had held since July 2024. Prior to that, he was the Deputy Minister for Energy.

Mr. Krapa’s promotion follows the nomination of Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, the former Energy Minister, as the running mate for Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia in the upcoming election.
