The Electoral Commission (EC) has announced the disqualification of Ghana Freedom Party (GFP) presidential candidate Philip Appiah Kubi, also known as Roman Fada, from participating in the December 7 election.

This decision came after the EC thoroughly reviewed Roman Fada’s nomination forms, which he submitted last week as a replacement for the late GFP leader Akua Donkor.

During a press briefing on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, EC Chairperson Jean Mensa explained that multiple errors were found in Roman Fada’s nomination documents, leading to his disqualification.

Despite this setback, Ms. Mensa confirmed that the ballot order would remain unchanged, and the printing process would continue as scheduled.

In a show of respect, the EC also observed a minute of silence in memory of Madam Akua Donkor, who passed away on Monday, October 28, 2024, at Ridge Hospital.
