The Minister of Gender, Children, and Social Protection, Agnes Naa Momo Lartey, has announced the immediate termination of contracts for all Regional and Zonal Coordinators under the Ghana School Feeding Programme (GSFP).
In a statement dated March 4, the Minister directed the affected staff to visit the GSFP Secretariat to collect their termination letters and complete the necessary handover procedures. She also extended her appreciation to the coordinators for their service to the nation.
The statement, which was copied to the Chief Director, the National Coordinator of GSFP, and the Controller and Accountant General, confirmed that the decision takes effect immediately. However, no specific reason was given for the mass termination.
The Ghana School Feeding Programme, a government initiative aimed at providing free meals to schoolchildren to improve enrollment, attendance, and nutrition, has faced persistent challenges over the years, including funding delays, corruption allegations, and outstanding payments to caterers.
