Christian Kwabena Andrews, the Ghana Union Movement’s (GUM) 2024 presidential candidate, has criticized the New Patriotic Party (NPP) candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, as lacking the maturity needed for the presidency. Speaking on The Big Agenda on Adom TV with host Nana Osei Ampofo Adjei, Andrews argued that Bawumia’s performance as head of the Economic Management Team has been inadequate and that his efforts to distance himself from Ghana’s economic challenges highlight his lack of competence.

Turning to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate, John Dramani Mahama, Andrews stated that the former president no longer has fresh ideas to address the nation’s issues. Instead, he urged Ghanaians to view GUM as the best choice in the upcoming December 7 election, calling on voters to support his bid for the presidency.

Nicknamed Kyere Abosom, Andrews dismissed recent polls suggesting an NPP or NDC victory, labeling them as “fake,” and expressed strong confidence in his own success. He has even vowed to invoke “99 curses” on anyone who attempts to tamper with his votes, an act he plans to perform on December 1 as a protective measure.

When questioned about his potential stance in a runoff between the NDC and NPP, Andrews indicated he would support the candidate willing to reimburse every cedi he has invested in his campaign since 2020. He explained, “It’s a serious matter to retrieve all the money I’ve spent from anyone before I give my backing.”
