The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has announced plans to conclude its nationwide campaign with a grand event on December 5, 2024, dubbed the Possibilities Victory Rally.

The rally will take place at the UG Sports Directorate Park, near the University of Ghana Sports Stadium in Accra, according to a statement issued by the NPP’s National Organiser, Henry Nana Boakye, on November 30, 2024.

The party extended an open invitation to its members, supporters, and the general public to attend what it described as a “historic event,” which will be broadcast live across all major media platforms.

The rally will feature key NPP figures, including President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, flagbearer Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, former President John Agyekum Kufuor, running mate Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, National Chairman Stephen Ayesu Ntim, and General Secretary Justin Kodua Frimpong.

A Competitive Showdown

The NPP’s rally coincides with the final campaign event of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), also set for December 5. This coincidence sets the stage for an intense conclusion to the campaign season, with both parties vying to energize supporters and appeal to undecided voters ahead of the December 7 elections.

The NPP’s event will focus on highlighting its accomplishments in governance and presenting its vision for the future under Dr. Bawumia’s leadership.

On the other hand, the NDC, led by John Dramani Mahama, is expected to use its rally to critique the ruling party’s record while promoting its plans to address Ghana’s pressing challenges.

As the election draws near, these simultaneous rallies underscore the fierce competition between Ghana’s two largest political parties, marking the climax of what is expected to be one of the most closely contested elections in the country’s history.
