Akua Donkor, the presidential candidate for the Ghana Freedom Party (GFP), has selected Philip Kwabena Agyemang Appiah-Kubi as her running mate for the upcoming December 7 general elections.

Appiah-Kubi, widely recognized as Roman Fada, is a prominent radio and television personality, known for hosting the morning show on DL 106.9 FM and the drive-time show on Atinka FM.

Initially, Donkor had intended to choose Adakabre Frimpong as her running mate, but she made a last-minute change in her selection.

Donkor submitted her nomination papers for the presidential race last Thursday, officially confirming her candidacy for the Ghana Freedom Party.

With over two decades in broadcasting, Roman Fada, renowned for his role as a leading radio and television personality, and manager of Ghanaian highlife star Daddy Lumba, has cemented his status as one of the top radio presenters in Ghana.

Fada, who has recently been named as the vice-presidential candidate for the Ghana Freedom Party (GFP), credits Madam Akua Donkor, the party’s founder and leader, with inspiring his decision. He cited her innovative ideas and vision as key reasons for accepting the role.

Expressing his gratitude, Fada thanked Donkor for selecting him as her running mate.

Madam Akua Donkor highlighted her campaign’s focus on enhancing the lives of Ghanaians and promised to unveil her manifesto soon. Her upcoming manifesto will detail her plans for economic transformation and her vision for improving living conditions in the country.

Madam Akua Donkor reaffirmed her commitment to several key initiatives in her presidential campaign. She pledged to establish a free port in Ghana and implement a policy for domestic crude oil refining, aiming to lower the cost of petroleum products.

Addressing the issue of illegal mining (galamsey), Donkor proposed transferring the oversight and management of all water bodies to the Ghana Armed Forces. This move is part of her broader strategy to combat environmental degradation and protect the country’s natural resources.
