2026 World Cup Qualifiers: Clean bill of health as Black Stars take on Chad today

Ghana’s Black Stars are set to face Chad in a decisive 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier on Friday night, with no injury concerns in the squad.

The national team assembled in Accra on Monday to begin preparations for the upcoming fixtures against Chad and Madagascar. Under the guidance of head coach Otto Addo, the 23-man squad has been training intensively for the first of the two crucial encounters.

Heading into tonight’s match, all players in the Black Stars’ camp are fit and available, giving coach Otto Addo a full selection of options in every position.

Despite acknowledging that his team has the upper hand, the coach has cautioned against overconfidence.

“Chad may not be a top team, but I can assure you it won’t be an easy game. We need all the support we can get,” Otto Addo stated during his pre-match press conference.

He further expressed confidence in his team’s attacking potential, saying, “I believe we are on the right path. We will create many chances, and I know the goals will come.”

The crucial Group I encounter is set to kick off at 7 PM at the Accra Sports Stadium. A victory for Ghana would propel the Black Stars to the top of the group, strengthening their bid for a spot in the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
