The Electoral Commission (EC) has announced that any votes cast for the late Madam Akua Donkor in the 2024 presidential election will be deemed rejected ballots.
The decision comes after her sudden passing, which occurred after ballot papers had already been printed, featuring her photo and the logo of her political party.
In a statement, the EC emphasized that votes for the late candidate would not count as part of the valid votes cast and urged voters to take note of the directive ahead of the elections.
To maintain transparency during the vote counting process, the EC assured the public that all relevant staff and agents of the presidential candidates have been duly notified of the ruling.
The Commission reminded voters to consider this development when making their choices at the polls.
