More than 18.7 million voters are anticipated to cast ballots on December 7—EC

The Electoral Commission (EC) has announced that 18,774,159 registered voters are expected to participate in the December 7 elections.

With just 25 days to go, the EC reported that the registered voters include those on the biometric register, special voters, and individuals who lack biometric data.

This information was detailed in the EC’s summary of the certified 2024 voters register, signed by Deputy Chairman of Operations, Samuel Tettey.

According to the EC’s breakdown, 18,640,811 voters have biometric data, with 131,478 designated as special voters. Additionally, 1,870 voters are on the roll without biometric data.

The total marks an increase of 1,746,518 registered voters compared to the 2020 election, which had 17,027,641 voters in total.
