President John Dramani Mahama is set to submit the final list of his ministerial nominees to the Speaker of Parliament on Monday, 20th January 2025.

This submission fulfills the President’s promise to complete the formation of his cabinet within 14 days of assuming office.

President Mahama has consistently advocated for a streamlined government, limiting the number of ministers to 60 as part of his strategy to enhance efficiency and reduce administrative costs. This move aligns with his campaign pledge to run a lean government.

The upcoming nominees are expected to cover key ministries, including Defence, Interior, Environment, Health, and Labour. Additionally, the list will include three Regional Ministers, finalizing the appointments necessary for the effective functioning of the government.

Meanwhile, the Presidency’s Communications Team has refuted rumours of a supposed third batch of ministerial nominees.

Reports circulating on social media and other platforms, claiming that prominent members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) are part of additional appointments, have been dismissed as “false and misleading.”

The Presidency has assured the public that all announcements regarding ministerial appointments will be made through official channels.

Ghanaians are advised to disregard unofficial information and rely on credible sources for accurate updates on government activities.
