Gov't handling of PDS deal hugely disappointing – Mahama - Kasapa102.5FM

As the rainy season intensifies, President John Dramani Mahama has ordered city authorities to demolish structures built on waterways to mitigate the devastating impact of floods.

Speaking at the final Muslim prayers in Accra, the President reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to prioritizing public safety over personal interests.

He expressed concern over recent heavy rains in parts of the country, warning that without immediate action, the risk of severe flooding would escalate.

Mahama directed city officials to clear blocked waterways, unclog drains, and remove unauthorized structures—including those at Ramseyer sites—to prevent further obstruction of water flow.

Emphasizing the need for stricter enforcement of building regulations, he called for long-term measures to prevent the recurrence of illegal construction on flood-prone lands.

The President also cautioned young people to celebrate responsibly, urging them to avoid reckless driving and dangerous motorcycle stunts that could lead to tragic accidents.

Reassuring the public, Mahama pledged his administration’s unwavering efforts to protect lives and properties as the country navigates the peak of the rainy season.
