Black Stars captain Jordan Ayew has expressed his heartfelt appreciation to Ghanaians for their unwavering support during Ghana’s recent 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying matches.

The national team secured two dominant victories, crushing Chad 5-0 before sealing a 3-0 win over Madagascar, significantly improving their chances of qualifying for the tournament set to be hosted in the USA, Canada, and Mexico.

In an emotional open letter to fans, the Leicester City forward reassured Ghanaians of the team’s dedication to bouncing back after their failure to qualify for this year’s Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

“On behalf of my teammates, I want to sincerely thank you all for your incredible support during our recent World Cup qualifiers against Chad and Madagascar,” Ayew wrote.

“Your energy, passion, and unwavering belief in us mean everything. It is an honor to represent this great nation, and we are determined to make you proud.”

Reflecting on the team’s recent struggles, Ayew acknowledged the disappointment of missing out on AFCON but emphasized their commitment to redemption.

“We know we fell short in the AFCON qualifiers, but we are working tirelessly to improve. Our focus is on delivering the results needed to secure our place at the World Cup.”

The Black Stars skipper also vowed to give everything to ensure Ghana’s return to the world’s biggest football stage.

“We are not giving up! Our eyes are set on the goal, and with your continued support, we believe we can achieve it together.”
