CLOGSAG calls off strike

The Civil and Local Government Staff Association of Ghana (CLOGSAG) has officially called off its strike, which began on November 7, 2024. This decision follows a court order issued by the Accra High Court, at the request of the National Labour Commission (NLC), mandating an end to the industrial action.

In its statement, CLOGSAG urged its members to resume work while it continues to negotiate for improved conditions of service.

“As a law-abiding association, CLOGSAG respects the injunction order and has therefore decided to end the strike immediately,” the association noted. “All members are requested to report back to their duties. CLOGSAG remains committed to securing better working conditions for everyone.”

The association initially initiated the strike after the government missed a deadline of October 31 to address its demands. Despite several meetings since then, CLOGSAG claims that the government has not yet made a firm proposal.

The Fair Wages and Salaries Commission, however, disputed this claim, stating that the government has presented a new salary structure and is awaiting CLOGSAG’s response.
