The Kumasi office of the Customs Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) has surpassed its revenue target for the 2024 fiscal year, generating over 450 million cedis in the Ashanti Region.
This marks a significant turnaround for the division, which had struggled to meet its revenue targets for three consecutive years. Through the implementation of strategic measures, the Customs Division in Kumasi recorded an impressive 13.7% growth in revenue collection by the end of 2024.
Revenue mobilization efforts within the Kumasi Collection had been declining since 2022, creating challenges for the unit in meeting its goals. However, by December 2024, the office collected 454.69 million cedis, exceeding its target of 399.43 million cedis by 55.26 million cedis.
At a send-off ceremony for outgoing sector commander Assistant Commissioner (AC) Vivian Glover, she attributed the success to the dedication of the Customs Division team and the support of regional authorities.
“The unwavering commitment of the staff, along with the assistance of the regional coordinating council and security council, played a pivotal role in achieving this remarkable milestone,” AC Glover said.
This achievement adds to the list of accomplishments under AC Glover’s leadership, leaving a strong legacy of progress and excellence for the Customs Division in Kumasi.
After 37 years of distinguished service with the Customs Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority, Assistant Commissioner (AC) Vivian Glover is retiring as the third female sector commander of the Kumasi Collection.
AC Glover, who was appointed sector commander in 2023, leaves behind a legacy of transformative leadership. Her tenure has been celebrated for driving significant achievements, including surpassing revenue targets and strengthening operations.
Speaking at her send-off ceremony, Commissioner of the Customs Division, Brigadier Zibrim Ayorogo, praised her contributions.
“Her impact on the division has been extraordinary, with a focus on implementing policies and procedures that have enhanced the efficiency of customs operations. We express our deepest appreciation for her outstanding dedication and service,” he said.
