President John Mahama has revealed that he will soon announce the final batch of deputy ministers as part of his commitment to appoint 60 ministers for his administration.

During the swearing-in ceremony for newly approved ministers at the Jubilee House on Friday, February 7, 2025, President Mahama confirmed that he had already nominated 13 deputy ministers earlier this week, in consultation with the relevant sector ministers.

“This leaves me with four remaining nominations. In the coming days, I will appoint the final four deputy ministers, fulfilling my promise to the people of Ghana,” he stated.

With the deputy ministerial nominations awaiting vetting and approval by Parliament, the President urged Parliament to expedite the process so that the nominees could assume office promptly and assist their respective ministers in implementing government policies.

President Mahama reiterated his commitment to a lean and efficient government, emphasizing that while reducing the size of government is important, true efficiency comes from strategic planning, creativity, innovation, and hard work.

“An efficient government does not come by chance. It requires intentional effort and dedication, and I expect nothing less than excellence from all of you,” he told the newly appointed ministers.
