Ahead of the December 7 general election, the Ghana Police Service, in collaboration with other security agencies, has engaged with all political parties to discuss the security measures in place for the upcoming polls.

On Thursday, November 21, 2024, with just 16 days remaining before the election, representatives from various political parties met with the security forces. The purpose of the meeting was to update the parties on the security arrangements and reaffirm the commitment to ensuring a peaceful and secure election process.

During the meeting, officials highlighted the measures being put in place to maintain order and peace during the election. This follows a separate briefing on Wednesday, where the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, met with senior journalists and news editors.

Dr. Dampare assured the media of the police’s dedication to their safety throughout the electoral period, reinforcing the importance of collaboration between the media and security forces for a smooth and peaceful election.
