Mahama recalls diplomatic passports issued by Akufo-Addo’s government

President John Mahama has ordered the immediate recall of all diplomatic and service passports issued during the Akufo-Addo administration.

The decision, according to the Presidency, aims to ensure proper usage of the passports, prevent any potential misuse, and uphold Ghana’s international reputation.

A statement released by Dr. Callistus Mahama, the President’s Executive Secretary, announced the directive and outlined steps for its implementation.

The Chief Director of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been instructed to notify all holders of diplomatic passports, establish a clear deadline for their return, and conduct a comprehensive review of the documents.

The Ministry has until January 24 to complete the collection and verification process, ensuring compliance with the directive.
