IEAG Engages GIPC CEO to Strengthen Trade and Investment in Ghana

The Importers and Exporters Association of Ghana (IEAG), led by its Executive Secretary, Samson Asaki Awingobit, has paid a courtesy visit to the Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC), Simon Madjie.

The meeting served as a platform to discuss pressing challenges and emerging opportunities within Ghana’s trade and investment landscape. It also underscored the importance of collaboration between key stakeholders to drive economic growth.

Mr. Awingobit reaffirmed IEAG’s dedication to advocating for value addition in local production, emphasizing the need for stronger synergies across sectors. He highlighted the significance of understanding mutual interests and assured Mr. Madjie of IEAG’s unwavering support for future engagements.

Encouraging the GIPC CEO to champion Ghana’s economic potential on the global stage, Mr. Awingobit urged, “Go and sell Ghana to the world,” reinforcing the country's vast trade and investment opportunities.

In response, Mr. Madjie welcomed the partnership and stressed the need for ongoing consultations. He proposed revising certain regulatory frameworks to address evolving industry demands and advocated for a “24-hour economy” to spur national development.

Additionally, he disclosed that the GIPC is developing an investment portfolio tailored to different regions, ensuring a balanced distribution of opportunities across the country.

Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to working together to enhance Ghana’s global trade and investment standing.
