President John Mahama has named Brigadier-General Paul Seidu Tanye-Kulono as the Acting Director-General of the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority (GPHA).

Brigadier-General Tanye-Kulono, who currently serves as the Deputy Commandant of the National College of Defence Studies (NCDS) at Burma Camp, brings a wealth of experience in military leadership, legal affairs, and strategic management to his new role.

The appointment was confirmed in a statement issued by the Acting Presidential Spokesperson, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, which described Brigadier-General Tanye-Kulono as a distinguished officer with an impressive academic and professional background.

He holds a Master of Laws (LLM) in Litigation and Alternative Dispute Resolution from the George Washington School of Law, as well as a Master’s in Management Studies from Osmania University in India and a Master of Arts in International Affairs from the University of Ghana. He was called to the Ghanaian Bar in 2015.

His military training includes programs at elite institutions such as the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, the United States Army Command and Staff College, and the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Centre.

Over the years, he has held several key leadership positions, including Chief Coordinator at NCDS, Assistant Commandant at the Training and Doctrine Command, and Deputy Director-General of Training at the Ghana Armed Forces Headquarters.

Additionally, Brigadier-General Tanye-Kulono has extensive experience in peacekeeping and international security, having served as Deputy Force Provost Marshal and Officer in Charge of Special Investigations at the UN Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL).

With his expertise in counterterrorism, strategic defence management, and operational training, he is expected to bring strong leadership and vision to the GPHA, ensuring efficiency in Ghana’s ports and maritime operations.
