The Ashanti NPP Parliamentary Caucus has dismissed recent allegations surrounding the Ashanti Regional Caucus election, describing them as misleading and unfounded.

In a press release signed by Secretary Vincent Ekow Assafuah, the caucus reaffirmed that the election was conducted fairly, transparently, and without any external interference or bias.

“The election was guided by democratic principles, ensuring a process that was free from external influence, coercion, or favoritism,” the statement clarified.

Addressing reports that Nana Ayew Afriyie received only eight votes, the caucus refuted these claims as factually incorrect and deliberately misleading. They also confirmed that Nana Ayew Afriyie did not participate in the election, having previously announced his decision not to contest any leadership position.

Reaffirming its dedication to democratic values and party unity, the caucus urged the public to disregard misinformation intended to stir unnecessary controversy within the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
