The Ghana Football Association (GFA) Disciplinary Committee has imposed a GH¢5,000 fine on Ghana Premier League side Accra Lions for misconduct following their 1-0 loss to Dreams FC at the Tuba AstroTurf.

The club was found guilty of making inappropriate social media comments that criticized match officials and implied external influence in the game’s outcome. Accra Lions suggested that the match was unfairly decided in favor of Dreams FC, a claim that sparked controversy.

According to the GFA Disciplinary Committee, the club’s remarks tarnished the reputation of the league and violated Section 34(6)(d) of the GFA Premier League Regulations, 2019. The GFA Prosecutor highlighted that questioning the integrity of match officials constituted misconduct.

In addition to the financial penalty, Accra Lions have been cautioned against repeating such actions in the future, as further violations could lead to harsher sanctions.
