2024 Polls: Presidential candidates to ballot for positions today

The Electoral Commission (EC) is set to conduct the balloting for the 2024 presidential candidates today, Friday, September 20, 2024, at 4 PM at its headquarters. This crucial event will determine the order in which the candidates' names will appear on the ballot for the upcoming December 7 elections.

The balloting follows the EC's recent announcement of the official list of qualified presidential candidates. Out of 24 hopefuls, 13 have been cleared to compete in the race.

Notable contenders include John Dramani Mahama of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Alan Kyerematen, and Nana Kwame Bediako. However, several candidates were disqualified, such as Bernard Mornah of the People’s National Convention (PNC) and Janet Nabla of the People’s National Party (PNP), along with Nana Stephens Adjepong, Paul Perkoh, and James Kwesi Oppong.
