Yussif Basigi has officially parted ways with Hasaacas Ladies after a remarkable 21-year tenure, Joy Sports has reported. The 52-year-old coach is now set to embark on a new chapter in his career, joining Tanzanian side Simba Queens on a one-year deal.

Basigi’s journey with Hasaacas began in 2003, where he first earned his coaching credentials and later took charge of the men’s team. In 2013, he transitioned to the women’s side, leading them to unprecedented success. Under his leadership, Hasaacas Ladies clinched the inaugural Ghana Women’s Premier League title and went on to win five league titles in total, along with an FA Cup in 2021.

On the continental stage, Basigi guided the team to victory in the first-ever WAFU B Women’s Champions League and secured a runner-up finish in the CAF Women’s Champions League.

Following Basigi’s departure, Mabel Baffoe Eshun, the assistant coach, has taken over as interim head coach, leading the team in the 2024 Women’s Premier Super Cup.

Basigi’s exit follows his recent return from Colombia, where he coached Ghana’s U-20 women’s national team, the Black Princesses, at the 2024 U-20 Women’s World Cup.
