James Kwasi Appiah has reclaimed his role as a member of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Executive Council following the conclusion of his temporary suspension on November 30, 2024. The announcement was made by his personal assistant, Asante Forkuo, who confirmed the development via a post on X (formerly Twitter).

Appiah, currently serving as the head coach of Sudan’s national team, had stepped aside from his Executive Council duties earlier in the year. This decision was aimed at resolving public concerns over a perceived conflict of interest during Ghana’s crucial AFCON 2025 qualifiers against Sudan.

“Coach Kwasi Appiah has officially resumed his position as an Executive Council Member of the GFA,” Forkuo shared on December 3, 2024. “This follows the expiration of his temporary suspension on November 30, 2024, as outlined in his letter to the GFA and CAF.”

The confirmation was accompanied by a social media post reiterating Appiah’s commitment to his dual roles in football governance and coaching.

While resuming his administrative role, Appiah continues to excel on the sidelines. He recently led Sudan to secure qualification for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, which will be hosted in Morocco. This achievement underscores his expertise and influence in African football, both as a coach and an administrator.
