Renowned journalist Kofi Adomah Nwanwani has broken his silence following a devastating incident that nearly cost him his sight.
In an emotional statement, he revealed that he is enduring excruciating pain and persistent headaches, which have made rest and sleep nearly impossible despite undergoing multiple medical treatments.
“I need to speak before anything happens. I’m in severe pain, and my head aches badly, but I have to share my truth,” he said, visibly distressed.
The broadcaster sustained the injury in December 2024 during a musketry display at a festival in Dormaa when gunpowder residue struck his eye. Despite the accident, he remained committed to covering the event and later sought medical treatment in Dubai.
Kofi expressed deep disappointment over what he described as abandonment by his own people during his recovery. He also alleged that some traditional leaders in Dormaa were attempting to cover up the incident to avoid public embarrassment.
“If anyone was going to do this to me, I never thought it would come from the Bono people,” he lamented.
Despite his struggles, he remains grateful for his survival and took a moment to thank Ghanaians for their prayers and unwavering support. “Through it all, I thank God for my life,” he said.
