The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has officially declared former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta a fugitive in connection with multiple corruption investigations.

Addressing the media on Wednesday, Special Prosecutor Kissi Agyebeng disclosed that Mr. Ofori-Atta is a key suspect in four major corruption-related cases. These include investigations into the National Cathedral project, Strategic Mobilization Limited (SML), and two other undisclosed matters.

According to Mr. Agyebeng, the former minister is currently in the United States for medical treatment. However, he emphasized that Mr. Ofori-Atta must return to Ghana immediately to assist with the ongoing investigations.

The Special Prosecutor further revealed that Mr. Ofori-Atta’s legal representatives have been unable to confirm when he will return. He warned that if the former minister fails to present himself voluntarily, legal measures will be taken to ensure his return.
