The Ministry of Education has reassured parents, urging them to remain calm as incoming Senior High School (SHS) students prepare to start the new academic year.

Speaking on Adom FM’s Dwaso Nsem, Ministry spokesperson Kwasi Kwarteng clarified that classes will officially commence on November 7, not October 30 as initially believed.

Mr. Kwarteng addressed questions around student readiness, noting that students have an additional week to settle in smoothly. He highlighted that the harmonized prospectus has simplified the process, allowing parents and students to avoid multiple trips to schools to gather necessary supplies.

“We have not stated anywhere that students must report on October 30. October 30 marks the beginning of registration and orientation, which is distinct from the start of academic activities. Academic sessions are set to begin on November 7, which should clear up any confusion,” he said. “Students are not bound to attend registration on October 30 as it can be completed online if preferred,” Mr. Kwarteng added, easing concerns over timing constraints.
