The Ghana Police Service has announced that all roads that were previously closed for special operations in Accra have been reopened as of 6 PM on September 23, 2024.
The road closures, which began on September 21, were part of a broader effort to enhance security and ensure law enforcement in the lead-up to the Democracy Hub protest. Notable areas impacted by the closures included the stretch between the AU Roundabout and the 37 Roundabout.
To manage traffic during the period, officers from the Motor Traffic and Transport Department (MTTD) were deployed to assist motorists and maintain smooth traffic flow.
In a statement, the Police expressed their appreciation to the public for their patience and understanding during the exercise. They also reaffirmed their commitment to upholding security, law, and order across the nation.
