President John Dramani Mahama and Vice President Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang have engaged in a high-level meeting with officials from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in Accra to discuss Ghana’s ongoing financial support programme.

The discussions centered on strategies to stabilise the economy, promote sustainable growth, and ensure fiscal responsibility, as part of efforts to address the nation’s pressing economic challenges.

The meeting highlighted the commitment of both the Ghanaian government and the IMF to work collaboratively towards long-term economic resilience and prosperity for the country.

Key government officials, including Finance Minister-designate Dr. Cassiel Ato Baah Forson and Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, General Secretary of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), were present to contribute to the discussions.

The engagement underscored the importance of aligning Ghana’s development objectives with the IMF’s support framework to foster economic stability and sustainable progress.
