President John Dramani Mahama has revealed plans to extend the Kasoa-Winneba Road dualisation project to Cape Coast as part of efforts to improve road infrastructure in the Central Region.

The $180 million dual carriageway project, which covers a 30-kilometer stretch along the Kasoa-Winneba highway, was recently inaugurated by the former Minister of Roads and Highways. The project aims to reduce traffic congestion, enhance transportation, and boost economic activities.

During his thank-you visit to the Central Region, President Mahama confirmed that the initiative would go beyond Winneba.

“As phase one progresses, we will package and secure funding for phases two and three under our Big Push programme,” he assured.

He explained that the second phase will extend from the Winneba roundabout to Mankessim, while the third phase will cover the Mankessim-Cape Coast route.

Additionally, the government is prioritizing other key road developments, including the Yamoransa to Twifo Praso and Cape Coast to Twifo Praso roads.

President Mahama also announced plans to modernize the Mankessim market as part of the NDC’s broader market enhancement programme.
